Mohawk View Water Treatment Plant
EXPANSION & UPGRADES / GENERAL CONTRACTING

U.W. Marx provided general contracting services at the Town of Colonie site along the Mohawk River. The project included construction of a 21,000 s/f expansion to the existing plant, as well as a new pumping station, new chemical storage building, and demolition and renovation of existing facilities. The project was honored as "2005 Project of the Year: Environmental/Water >$10 million" by the American Public Works Association, Capital Branch. |
Schroon Water Treatment Plant

U.W. Marx provided general contracting services for Phases I & II of this project within the boundaries of New York State's Adirondack Park. AES Northeast of Plattsburgh, NY has provided engineering services for the upgrade and improvements project. The scope of work at the existing facility included installation of two new clarifiers, construction of a new control building, upgrades to the aeration system, and installation of a new belt press & mechanical screening.

Poughkeepsie Water Treatment Plant

U.W. Marx was contracted to upgrade and renovate the existing Poughkeepsie plant. Located on the campus of Marist College, it serves 70,000 customers, generating 19 million gallons of drinking water per day. The treatment plant was built in the 1960's, and required a major overhaul to conform to the strict federal drinking water standards. |
Pownal Wastewater Treatment Plant

Pownal's new 0.26 mgd wastewater treatment plant, designed by engineering firm Forcier, Aldrich and Associates of Essex Junction, VT, is located on the banks of the Hoosic River in North Pownal. The new facility features an SBR System with fine bubble aeration (2 units), UV disinfection, PLC w/alarm dialer/notification system, and a computer workstation w/SCADA system and remote access. |
Halfmoon Water Treatment Plant

U.W. Marx teamed with engineering firm Clough, Harbour & Associates, LLP and more than 50 subcontractors to build this award-winning water treatment plant. Saratoga Wastewater Treatment Plant

U.W. Marx performed new construction and facility upgrades for two unique projects at the Saratoga Wastewater Treatment Plant. In 1996, U.W. Marx constructed a new biofilter and odor control building and installed two new 90-foot diameter final clarifiers, a new lime feed system, a blower building and new aeration equipment. In 1999, U.W. Marx installed an ultraviolet disinfection system, replacing the sewer district's existing gaseous chlorine disinfection system. |
Guilderland Water Treatment Plant

The Town of Guilderland hired U.W. Marx as general contractor for its new 5 million gallon-per-day water treatment facility. New construction included a 10,000 s/f building adjacent to the existing plant, as well as a new 1 million gallon-per-day pre-stressed concrete water storage tank.. |
