Construction of a new award-winning intermodal transportation center for the Capital District Transportation Authority. Features of the 80,000 s/f rail facility include expansive passenger waiting areas, glass skylights, climate-controlled access to the tracks, and top floor dedicated to retail and commercial space overlooking the main lobby. The project was recognized for numerous awards, including 2002 Transportation Project of the Year by the New York Chapter of the American Public Works Association, and received a 2002 Award of Merit: Transit Project from New York Construction News. |

This award-winning Construction Management Agency project for the Capital District Transportation Authority involved the demolition and restoration of an historic train station in the upstate New York resort town of Saratoga Springs. The design features of the new facility reflect the style of the surrounding Saratoga community. The Capital District Branch, New York Chapter of the American Public Works Association recognized the project in 2006 as "Transportation Project of the Year under $10 million". |

New construction of a modern executive aircraft facility at the Albany International Airport in upstate NY. The client hired U.W. Marx to build a facility that would enable the company to meet its goal of providing top-tier services to its upscale customer base. The 45,000 s/f structure, including aircraft hangar, passenger and administrative space, required intensive attention to detail, and was constructed under a rigorous schedule. U.W. Marx helped the architect and client bring their project in under budget by pursuing continuous value engineering efforts throughout the preconstruction and construction phases. |
