Features of the 80,000 SF rail facility include expansive passenger waiting areas, glass skylights, climate-controlled access to the tracks, and top floor dedicated to retail and commercial space overlooking the main lobby. The project included a new multi-level parking garage and surface parking area (creating 1,800 new spaces), in addition to track and rail bed improvements, and a pedestrian/automobile bridge. The design features of the new facility reflect the style of the surrounding Saratoga community. Improvements at the site included a new entrance road, new utility connections, enhancement of intermodal access and new infrastructure. Structural improvements include all new utilities, new station façade and new roof. The new structure also features a larger passenger waiting area, larger windows, and attractive retail spaces. The client hired U.W. Marx to build a facility that would enable the company to meet its goal of providing top-tier services to its upscale customer base. The 45,000 SF structure, including aircraft hangar, passenger and administrative space, required intensive attention to detail, and was constructed under a rigorous schedule. U.W. Marx helped the architect and client bring their project in under budget by pursuing continuous value engineering efforts throughout the preconstruction and construction phases.
