Community Builders - Tapestry on the Hudson

Tapestry on the Hudson involved the rehabilitation of an historic seven-story brick warehouse building into 67 mixed-income family rental units in the City of Troy's burgeoning North End. Tapestry's renovation, completed in the spring of 2017, includes a community room with full kitchen, on-site laundry, exercise facility, and offices for property management and maintenance personnel.

Also included in the $22.2 million project were restoration of the seawall, new raised outdoor recreational area overlooking the Hudson River, and numerous sustainable design and construction features, including a geothermal HVAC system and installation of photo-voltaic panels for electricity generation.

U.W. Marx worked closely with David A. Sadowsky, Architect, PC and The Community Builders, Inc. to re-purpose the Romanesque and Italianate style building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The New York State Association for Affordable Housing (NYSAFAH) recognized the project by selecting it as NYSAFAH Project of the Year (Upstate) for 2017.
