Water Treatment Plant Improvements, City of Poughkeepsie
U.W. Marx was contracted to upgrade and renovate this water treatment plant for the Poughkeepsie Joint Water Project Board. Located on the campus of Marist College (on the shore of the Hudson River), it serves more than 70,000 customers, generating 19 million gallons of drinking water per day.
Plant expansion and improvements included a new chemical building and wet labs, a new gravity sludge thickener, new surge tank, replacement of the existing low lift pump station electrical system, and the replacement of three solids-contact clarifier.
