National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, Saratoga Springs

U.W. Marx's assignment was to work with project architect Butler Rowland Mays to construct additions and renovations to the existing National Museum of Racing & Hall of Fame, modernizing the facility in a manner befitting the upscale resort and horse racing community of Saratoga Springs.

The U.W. Marx team constructed a new 10,000 SF addition around the existing facility while it remained fully operational, and then renovated an additional 30,000 SF of space during a winter/spring shutdown.

The award-winning project included installation of a complete new heating, A/C, humidification and temperature control system, allwoing the conversion of existing dormant space into collections storage with state-of-the-art climate-control capabilities.
The project was recognized as a CMAA 2001 Project of the  Year by the Construction Management Association of America, NY-NJ Metro Chapter.
