Stagehouse Expansion and new GE Theater, Proctors
U.W. Marx constructed additions and renovations to Schenectady's historic Proctors Theater. Proctors, constructed in 1926, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Work at the theater included a 20,000 SF expansion of the stage area, allowing the theater to attract larger touring shows. Renovations were also conducted on all levels of the theater and east arcade.
U.W. Marx also constructed the new GE Theater, a 450-seat multi-purpose space designed to display iWERKS™ Extreme Screen showings of 3-D movies. The space was constructed with retractable theater seats, so that it can also be made available for smaller cabaret events, lectures, trade shows and similar events.
